TCRTA Draft Short Range Transit Plan 2026 – 2031

A Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) is a planning document that provides a roadmap for the operation and improvement of a public transit system over the next several years. The plan evaluates existing transit services, identifies current and future transportation needs, and recommends strategies to improve service. Transit agencies periodically prepare SRTPs to support regional transportation planning and help guide future service and funding decisions.

As part of this process, the Tulare County Regional Transit Agency (TCRTA) partnered with TMD, Inc. to take a comprehensive look at the RIDE Tulare County transit system. Together, we reviewed how our current services are operating, how they are being used, and where there may be opportunities to better serve our communities.

Based on this evaluation, the Draft SRTP includes proposed service improvements and potential redesigns to the transit network. These recommendations are intended to make service more effective, useful, and responsive to the transportation needs of the communities we serve.

The proposed changes are not final. Community feedback is an important part of the planning process, and we want to hear from our riders and the communities we serve.

We invite you to review the Draft Short Range Transit Plan, learn about the proposed changes, and share your feedback. Your input will help inform the final plan and the future of RIDE Tulare County.
